How do you enter a new downtown neighbourhood with a fresh and culturally relevant take on an established fast food brand? How we changed KFC, and made it a distinctive and inviting café space that would ‘fit in’ with its neighbours, it still had to be recognisable as KFC.
This new KFC was to be a bold experiment to appeal to existing fans while attracting lapsed and new customers. KFC’s brand mantra, ‘Always original’, would ensure we made the most of the heritage building and the raw, urban grittiness of the immediate vicinity to provide our inspiration.
